Joshua Nazario (Puerto Rico, b.2001) is a self-taught artist based in Puerto Rico known for his use of industrial materials like wood & concrete in his sculptures that often depict racing cars and symbols of luxury, juxtaposed with everyday objects that reflect life on the island. Nazario began his art practice creating collages using skateboard magazines, and through the pandemic, he shifted into painting and sculpture, drawing items found around his home such as clothing fabrics, concrete and wood and other items. His artworks are a reflection of his come up, usually exploring themes of self-identity, sports, culture and life in Puerto Rico.
